BIK is an acronym of „barrierefrei informieren und kommunizieren“ (accessible information and communication). The aim of the project is to improve the accessibility of web and intranet sites and thereby, increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The project has two modules: BITV-Test (in German) and BIK@work.
The project is funded by the Bundesministerium für Arbeit und Soziales (the German Federal Ministry for Employment and Social Affairs).
To contribute to the creation of more accessible web and intranet sites and thereby, improve the employment opportunities of people with disabilities: that is the main concern of the BIK project.
BIK is a joint project of DIAS GmbH and several German organisations of blind and visually impaired people.
The team pages provide contact details of the BITV-Test team. BIK@work contact details are provided on the German website of the BIK@work module.
